Be Well & Thrive Has a History of Positive Impact in Community Settings

In 2011, Easterseals New Jersey had a vison to create a groundbreaking health and wellness program for people with disabilities and special needs. Thanks to the generosity of donors and funders, individuals served by Easterseals New Jersey participated in programs that fostered positive lifestyle and self care habits. Through Easterseals New Jersey’s generosity, the program has been passed on to Laura O’Reilly-Stanzilis, now President & CEO of Be Well & Thrive, a NJ Non Profit, who led the team that created and implemented the programs.

“Individuals with disabilities are at a higher risk for chronic medical conditions, such as hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, which affect an individual’s quality of life, employability, and integration into their community,” says Laura O’Reilly, RN, assistant vice president of health and wellness at Easter Seals New Jersey. “

Few, if any, prevention efforts are inclusive for individuals with disabilities. That’s where Be Well & Thrive steps in! Be Well & Thrive’s inclusive programs are for older adults, people with disabilities, functional limitations, and other special needs. Everyone’s health matters!
